Anna Boiko-Weyrauch uses data to uncover hidden stories. Her work has appeared such places as NPR, PRI’s The World, Marketplace, This American Life, and in The Seattle Times and won such awards as the national Edward R. Murrow Award and a national IRE award. Anna is a former data analyst with the Database Library of the National Institute of Computer-Assisted Reporting at the University of Missouri, where she received her masters in journalism. She is originally from Seattle. This is her first documentary.
Photographer, Editor, Associate Producer
Joe Mahoney is a photojournalist with Rocky Mountain PBS He won the Pulitzer Prizes for Breaking News Photography in 2000 and also 2003 with the Rocky Mountain News photo staff covering the Columbine school shootings, then the wildfires in Colorado. Before joining PBS, he was a staff photographer, then Assistant Director of Multimedia for the News from 1999 until the paper closed in 2009. Mahoney began his career with The Associated Press, spending nine years with the wire service.
Jim has edited a Pulitzer Prize-winning feature story and produced an Emmy-winning documentary. He’s also been a columnist at metropolitan newspapers, and was the winner of the Dart Society’s 2010 Mimi Award, which recognizes compassionate editorial leadership. He’s managing editor at Rocky Mountain PBS News.
